“Heritage-D” is not a single console but Midas’s current digital range, named after its legendary analogue Heritage desks. It consists of the HD96-24<\/strong>, launched in 2021, and the more compact HD96-AIR<\/strong>, which followed in 2024. Both are built on the same 96 kHz processing platform. This article explains what each one is for, based on Midas’s published information.<\/p>\n

HD96-24: the touring console<\/h2>\n

The HD96-24 is Midas’s flagship touring desk: 144 input channels at 96 kHz, a large bus count and a full surface with motorised faders. It connects to Midas and Klark Teknik stage I\/O over AES50, and optional modules add Dante or MADI for integration with other systems. It targets the same work as the DiGiCo Quantum range, Yamaha Rivage and Allen & Heath dLive: tours, festivals and large venues.<\/p>\n

HD96-AIR: the same engine in a smaller footprint<\/h2>\n

The HD96-AIR keeps the HD96 processing platform but replaces the large fader surface with a compact, screen-centred design. It makes sense where the channel count of a flagship is needed but space is limited \u2014 installed venues, theatres, houses of worship or secondary control positions.<\/p>\n

What about the Heritage 3000 and Pro Series?<\/h2>\n

Do not confuse the Heritage-D range with the Heritage 3000<\/strong>, an analogue touring console from 1998. And the previous-generation digital Pro Series<\/strong> (including the Pro X) has been discontinued at many retailers. Who should look at the HD96?<\/h2>\n
